2023-11-16 | (A) Craig Renier | vs | Edgar Degiovanni | | German (SS) win | The German plan was to assault across the bridge to take the village with a small flanking force crossing the stream to the east and advancing through the woods. The Russian sniper was very active forcing an armored car to recall and breaking two squads. Another Russian squad turned an AFV into a burning wreck with CC Reaction Fire. But the Germans were able to persist inflicting losses on the Russians. Russian forces on the east side were late to move giving the Germans a small opening to force most of the buildings. On the final 1/2 turn, the Germans fired into a Melee breaking the two Russian squads while suffering no losses themselves. With German units in a position to advance into the final building and no Russian units able to prevent it, the Russians conceded. |

2022-02-17 | (A) Andy Bagley | vs | Ernst Knauth | | Russian win | I had a plan: I guessed (correctly) that the Russians would set up their ART Gun on the western hill, so brought my tanks on out of its LOS to provide long-range fire support, whilst the armoured cars just hid until it was time to button up and dash down the road to exit. Meanwhile, the main infantry force would move through the woods and gully west of the road to attack the Gun, while a smaller force (two squads and a leader) moved towards the village to hinder any defensive shift west. This worked up to a point; the two armoured cars managed to survive many defensive shots and exit successfully, and the main infantry force reached the Gun on the hill.
However, I ran into two major problems: first, the Russian 50mm mortar opened fire on my smaller force, with IFT 2 -1 shots and got RoF 12 (yes, TWELVE!) times. Not surprisingly, this wiped my guys out. Then on turn 3, I had a 6:1 CC attack with 0 modifiers against the Gun crew - and failed (rolled an 11)! The Russians fired into the resulting melee, then fed it with more troops, with the result that this melee continued right up to the end of the game, with many German units breaking and withdrawing from it.
In the end I might have got a third AFV off, but could not exit any infantry as the Russian reinforcements blocked my few remaining units. So, a Russian win. It was close though, and a few more favourable DRs might have done it for me, but it was a really enjoyable scenario and well played by my opponent. |
2021-10-20 | (D) Paolo Cariolato | vs | Federico Corso | | Russian win | The Germans went hard for the village with just 1 and half squad used for flanking.
Trenches in the hills in J3 and K3, the bunker in J3 and the GUN in K3 bore sighted in J4 proved an hard shell to crack.
B26.7 is critical in defending the village from this strong position.
German lost the AC to the mortar and ATR and the PzII to ATR in the end al came down to a CC in K4 that the russians won.
We both found this one well conceived but too much one dimensional and close for our tastes. |
2021-02-09 | (D) X von Marwitz | vs | Lars-Peder Jensen | | Russian win | This little scenario is set in the openings months of Operation Barbarossa. A crack German force has to overcome a stream and the hills beyond for a number of EVP. The terrain is a great challenge so the defending Russians must make the best out of what they have.

2021-01-23 | (A) Shane Pask | vs | | | Russian win | 5 turns is not much to cross board 47 with infantry. Conceded at the end of turn 3 when the Russian sniper went crazy breaking two separate squads and leaving me with no practical hope of exiting the required infantry. I had one AC and the Pz II waiting to exit. Didn't even manage to reveal stacks in 2 of 3 village buildings - the third one revealed itself with an ATR as an AC roared passed (missed). |
2020-12-12 | (D) Dave Mareske | vs | John Otrompke | | Russian win | The Germans divided their forces in both they tried to exit and take the buildings. The stream was hard to cross by the village and eventually lost both armored cars there. The Germans lost on of their tanks in CC and then it became impossible for them to exit 16CVP. A good game that came down to the final turns. |
2019-11-29 | (D) Miikka Sohlman | vs | Matti Holsti | | Russian win
2018-10-14 | (A) Vic Lauterbach | vs | JM | | German (SS) win | I risked dividing the small German force to attack both flanks. The 8 ML squads failed just two MC in the first two turns and I also got good smoke and sD results. The Russian reinforcements could not stop two flank movements resulting in an exit VP win in the German MPh of GT5. With some high DRs, this one could have easily gone the other way. |
2018-03-11 | (D) patrick palma | vs | John Garlic | | German (SS) win
2018-01-14 | (A) Jeff B | vs | Ed Donoghue | | Russian win | I went for the westerly approach and would never do that again. The terrain was absolutely brutal what with the valley, the stream, the wooded hills, and the double crestlines. Instead I would try a central/easterly approach to keep the option open of going for the exit or the buildings. As it was I did stand a chance, but my AC who was supposed to stand guard and suppress the Russian reinforcements was forced to BU in P2 and he became scrap metal instead when they swarmed him in CC. |
2015-04-03 | (A) Andy Beaton | vs | Richard Hooks | | Russian win | 9-1 leader and 3 broken squads poised to exit for the win; leader went berserk in last Russian turn and all 3 squads followed him. Finished with 13 exit points while they charged the closest Russian. |

2014-09-26 | (D) Paul Works | vs | Scott Martin | | German (SS) win
2013-07-15 | (D) John Van Natta | vs | Jerry | | Russian win | The bulk of Jerry's attack came in on the Russian left where I only had a couple of squads. I was able to move some supporting units over but it was a moot point as my MMG, MTR and ATG laid waste to his attack with multiple ROF tears for each weapon. I destroyed all of his tanks culminating with a Critical against his PzIII to seal the game in Russian turn 3. |

2012-05-22 | (A) Martí Cabré | vs | Antoine Sauliere | | German (SS) win | First I pushed on the left. The PSWs crossed the bridged and entered the village, where they killed in CC two conscript squads and the commissar. The tanks were in the southern hill shelling the Russian defenders and the SS squads approached the stream. The Russian gun KIA'd one of them. As the Russian left left its positions to cover the village I moved my tanks and half my infantry to my right and crossed the stream. The rest of the infantry advanced to the village and to the Russian gun while the PSWs exited the map. Thus I could either win by controlling the village or by exiting units and the Russians conceded on Turn 3. |
2011-02-26 | (D) Ian Willey | vs | MacRob | | German (SS) win | Killed all the Tanks but German firepower still was too much, fun though |
