Previously released as The Pursuit. . . .On March 14, some forward elements of a French patrol ambushed an Axis convoy and destroyed tow Ansaldo Fiats and two Mark IIIs using their new self-propelled AT gun prototype, the BB3. That gun was simply the standard French 75mm gun set up “en portee” on a Chevrolet truck. The Germans reacted by launching a strong counterattack using tanks, infantry and artillery. Threatened to be encircled and crushed by 155mm shells, the small French detachment fled, attempting to rejoin the rest of the column back to the west.
