Mortar crew broke entering board and took a few turns to get to fire. Gurkhas attempt at approaching hill were not progressing well until mortar went a a ROF tear laying 4 smoke screens on Italian positions allowing a charge and some good CC. But Italians had a good highway of trenches to get a lot of VP off board before Gurkhas could reach commanding positions.

Rate tears with MMG and HMG just scattered all Gurkhas attempts to get close and personal. Later in game, a few Gurkha fire attacks broke up to four Italian squads and I got to see that these guys don’t rally easy. But, it was too late for the Gurkhas to prevent a mass exodus of the rest.

My plan of encircling the Italians before they could execute their Turn 4 exodus worked well. The high ground is obviously very important to control. I didn't have a lot of smoke, but what I did have worked adequately to help get my guys in better position. The 0 hexrow is key to placing fire lanes and cutting off rout paths. I performed my first climbing maneuver with a Gurkha half squad. Silencing the gun should be a high priority. My guys went one step further and were able to capture both the crew and the gun. This move is what really put me over the top. Not a very exciting scenario though.

Italians occupied the two hill tops on the Gurka left. Gurkas focussed the attack on the centre. Being a bit too aggressive cost them a leader and squad for FTR. After three Gurka turns, Ale conceded because VP were 8 to 2 in favour of the Italians.
