As the defenses of southern Norway crumbled before the German onslaught, a group of young Swedish men decided to try their luck and help their neighbors. Led by Conny Andersson, a veteran of the Spanish Civil War, the group crossed the border in late April. They met large groups of Norwegian refugees heading for Sweden. Some of the refugees decided to join the Swedes. After crossing a few mountains, the band reached the village of Selbu. It had already been claimed by a German patrol, but as there were no soldiers present, the Scandinavians decided that this was a suitable place to make a stand. The German garrison in the nearby village of Elveran begged to differ.

A bit dicey in favour of the Swedes. I got 2 1/2 squads to the K row by turn 5. 1 1/2 were safe. The last squad was concealed but a 4+1 shot generated a 1MC which the leader passed and the squad failed - game over.

Small scenario, good for learning overrun and CC vs vehicles rules. Pushed the vehicles across the bridge and most of the infantry got their feet wet crossing the stream. This one does seem to be tough for the Germans, but some good dice and trapping some Swedish/Norwegian squads and killing them for failure to rout gave the Germans a close victory.

The German attack came up the road as expected. The Swedish LMG laid a good fire lane and halted the German infantry. The German armored car raced down the road and ran into the HIP Norwegian 4-5-7's. They would knock in Close Combat. The MK I would attempt an overrun and roll a 12, which immobilized it. The Swedes would fall back slowly and reconceal and by Turn 5, it was clear that the Germans could not reach the K row, so a Swedish/Norwegian victory.

The Germans seem to be confined to the road...this makes the Allied defence a bit
on the easy side.
It didn't help that I rolled really, really well. I guess a small scenario is susceptible to
a few good (or bad rolls).
Looks tough on the Germans.

Although not the most exciting of scenario's this small scenario is decent enough for a quick game. Looks tough for the Germans

Jim and i are playing through the Swedish Volunteers pack.
So, far with such short scenarios and limited forces a short run of good or bad dice can have a huge impact. You just don't have the time or forces to accommodate. This one is tough on the Germans from the start since they have significantly fewer forces and the allies have excellent defensive territory.
My first turn went to plan as o pushed up the road exposing the LMG and breaking it in advancing fire getting one HS DM'd in the process.
Bottom of the turn saw the Pz 1 malf on the first shot attempt (it would disable 2 tries later to fix it).
Shooting went completely cold for both of us. I don't think i have ever had a game with fewer IFT results.
I had only 4 shots that even resulted in a roll for Jim.
His luck really wasn't much better but getting quite a few PIN results slowing my push.
My AC also malfed on its first shot attempt and disabled on the 1st repair attempt.
So the AFV's proved of very limited value. I put the AC in the road to at least make the reinforcements go around it and tried to tie up some of the reinforcements in CC with the hunk of steel that was my Pz1 but they were eliminated on the first try.
Despite all of this i did manage to get 2 units across the river in my turn 4. In the allied phase they were hit with an NMC in the advancing fire on a 2 +2 and promptly rolled 10 and 11. This pretty much finished the game.
I really think the Germans need some luck in this one. I felt pretty good getting the units over the line at all.
