2024-03-22 | (D) Will Willow | vs | Dave Perham | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | VASL LG RD 2. German conceded after 3 turns. |
2023-03-24 | (D) Rich Weiley | vs | Dave Longworth | | German (SS) win
2022-04-20 | (D) Martí Cabré | vs | Björn Lorenzen | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | Very nice scenario with both sides having to risk to win asymmetrical victory conditions. The Germans slowly advanced against the Partisan line, breaking it but allowing for the Italians to close in. The German line slowly degraded. A StuG was left without infantry cover and it was destroyed with Partisan molotovs and the Italians managed to capture three squads. A single concealed Partisan leader ambushed and killed in CC a lone German HS! In the last turn the Germans could score 15 EVP and the allies 19 CVP. |
2022-03-06 | (D) Simon Staniforth | vs | | | German (SS) win | A nice puzzle and fun to play, something a bit different. Just couldn’t get enough hurt on the Germans who kept together nicely, protecting the StuGs with both able to exit along with sufficient infantry for the win. Risked a Bog check at +4 but sailed through it |
2022-03-06 | (D) Ian Morris | vs | Gerard Burton | | German (SS) win | Thought I’d got this in the bag, but he got both StuGs off for the win. |
2022-02-24 | (D) Ian Morris | vs | Martin Mayers | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | Close game, well-designed puzzle. |
2022-02-23 | (A) Paolo Cariolato | vs | Federico Corso | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | Very nice scenario with high replay value. I stopped cold the italians but used too much force, wasn't able to redeploy the picket line as planned. I could still have done it, but a molotov took out a Stug, and my chances were reduced, 3 boxcars on rally reduced my chances even more, on top of that couldn't win a melee for the sake of my life and conceded on the last turn.
We enjoyed the scenario and will gladly play it again. |
2022-02-15 | (D) Rick Troha | vs | James Johnson | | German (SS) win | Two German squads and the Stugs approached the village using Armored Assault. Meanwhile the rest of the Germans attacked southwards tearing into the Italian line.
By the end of turn 2, the Germans had 8 CVP to 0 for the Italians. Only 5 Italians squads were still in GO with the Germans controlling most of the woods on the hill. The Stugs and two German squads were on the outskirts of the village with the Partisans breaking one German squad.
With things looking bleak for the Italians and the Stugs still having three MPH to exit, I conceded. |
2022-01-15 | (A) Vic Lauterbach | vs | RV | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | This clever situation forces both sides to take risks. I tried a classic fighting withdrawal to slow down the Italians while I pushed through the Partisans. The delay part worked, but the push part fell short. The Partisans were tough in CC and finally got the StuG with a molotov after many misses! Renato got a pin on my last group trying to exit to secure the win! This one was a blast to play with plenty of drama and it has very high replay value. |
2021-11-05 | (A) Richard Jenulis | vs | Darren Kovac | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | West Coast Rumble 2021 - round 1, Italian balance: Diced! |
2021-07-25 | (D) nathan wegener | vs | Nate Stapf | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | Exciting championship game for StLouis 2021! Bid the Italians in this. Set fire to the rear grain to help channel the attack. Opponent obliged by ripping dow the street blasting me out of the way. Looked grim but I caught a couple SS squads in the open, breaking and capturing them. A Stg drove adjacent to my 7-0 who found a MOL to take him out. Opponent still had enough left to exit and win but the baby mortar hit the other Stg3 in the engine deck and immobilised it injuring the commander. That 45MRT saved the game for me. |
2021-06-06 | (A) nathan wegener | vs | Wes Vaughn | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | Definitely an intriguing situation. The Germans can completely overpower either (and likely both) opposing forces. However, doing that AND getting off the board is a challenge. I charged headlong and made great progress. A single picket squad and LMG remained behind and wiped out half the Italian force and another HS stopped a squad and a half.
However 3-4 squads and a leader got through and were able to get into position. The little mortar on the hill single handedly saved the game Killing 1.5 squads wounding a leader and breaking 2 others. I might still have made it, but the HIP MMC got lucky with his MOL roll and took down a STG. |
2021-05-26 | (D) Andy Bagley | vs | Tony Gibson | | German (SS) win | My opponent played the Germans the way I think they should be played: basically ignoring the Italians and racing at top speed, avoiding the village, to exit as early as possible. My Partisans were overwhelmed and my Italians never caught up. A few long-range shots with the mortar and MMG were ineffective; I might still have held on had any of my CC or MOL attacks worked, but unfortunately none of them did. |
2021-05-24 | (D) Pascal Boileau | vs | Jeff Wasserman | | German (SS) win | At the end, the count of VP for each side seems to make our game almost equal (8 vs 10 VP). However, the Germans of Jeff had completely annihilated the Partisans and neutralized the Italians. An undisputed victory for Jeff as not highlighted by our result. A really tough task for the German side. Well played Jeff and many thanks for your advices ! |
2021-05-08 | (A) Pascal Boileau | vs | Serge Doba | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | An interesting scenario while it's not easy for the Germans. The defense of Serge was smart. The captured units make the difference in CVP at the end. |
2021-05-08 | (D) Doba Serge | vs | Pascal Boileau | | Italian / Partisan (French) win
2021-03-26 | (D) Paul Works | vs | Scott Martin | | Italian / Partisan (French) win
2021-02-13 | (D) patrick palma | vs | Jim Traver | | Italian / Partisan (French) win
2020-12-22 | (A) Rob MacGinley | vs | Jean-Yves Tessier | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | To hold the Italians - easy
To charge thru a town and get men off the board - harder
To do both
Well Run Forest Run scenarios are like that!! - tough on those that run
did not make it in the end |
2020-12-13 | (D) Eric Topp | vs | Ron Oxford | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | My Partisans set up mostly in the north-west with a smaller screening force in the east. My Italians put most of their forces on the hill with a view to shooting at the Germans crossing the open ground between hexrows O and L. The Germans set up strongly in the east with a delaying force of what I thought was mostly Dummies in W10, U7 and U2.
The Germans attacked aggressively taking some infantry losses. The Partisans tried to hold a defensive line along the N6-M1 hedge but more outgunned and fell back to the woods.
Turn 3 was the turning point of the game. The Germans were committed to pushing through the central woods but the Partisans stood firm. The SS seem to have run out of bullets. The Italians caught up with the German rearguard and were eliminating/capturing broken units.
Turn 5 saw the Germans get some luck with snakes on a self-rally creating an 8-1 leader but these were in the rear with little impact on the game. The StuGs roared off but that wasn't enough Exit VP. The German 9-1 leader stacked with a squad headed for the A1 corner. Only a Partisan 8-0 leader and a squad was there to guard it. First Fire! Boxcars! Subsequent First Fire! Snakes! A 2KIA on the 2 column and that was that. |
2020-11-24 | (A) Richard Jenulis | vs | Steve Pleva | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | 2020 Albany tournament (round 1). Germans made good progress on turn 1 and looked to blow through the Partisan line. Partisans slowed the Germans down on turn 2, and stalled the Germans on turn 3. Turn 4, the wheels fell off. Italian MTR immobilized a StuG on turn 2, that really hurt the Germans. Fun scenario, the Germans need to play smart. |
2020-11-17 | (A) Jeff B | vs | Joe Arthur | | Italian / Partisan (French) win | I broke from my own plan of just driving my StuGs off the board and holing up with my infantry. I had my opportunity. I'll chalk it up to ennui in never wanting to play this loser in the first place. |
