Overview:
At 0630 parts of the Infanterie-Division 170 and Schützen-Brigade (mot.) reached the outskirts of Bredevad, a hamlet just north of the German-Danish border. Here at the crossroads of Bredevad itself. a company of the Danish 4th Bicycle Battalion had hurriedly dispatched to set up a roadblock before the Germans could arrive to seize the intersection. They managed to reach the crossroads moments before the armored cars of Schützen-Brigade (mot.) appeared.Attacker: German (Infanterie-Division 170 and Schützen-Brigade (mot.) 11)

| 2025-12-11 | (D) Peter Veenstra | vs | Marten Jan Ringers | German win | Everything went wrong for the Danes. Both my AT guns malfed (turn 1 and turn 2). That really took away the threat for the German tanks. We liked the game though. | ||

| 2025-06-29 | (A) Craig Renier | vs | Tony Fermendzin | Danish win | The German main force attempted to attack the Danish right while a smaller force approached from the left. With so much open ground, the Danish -2 shots took their toll. As time ticked away, the Germans became more brash with the armored cars which eventually fell victim to the Danish guns or small arms. All was not lost. On the final turn the German AFV took position on one of the crossroads in motion hoping to survive any CC on the Danish final turn. But there was no need for CC. While one Gun was captured and the other malf'd, a LMG was able to immobilize the AFV on the final Danish Prep Fire, giving them the win. | ||
| 2025-04-24 | (A) M van Houte | vs | Sam H. | German win | As many others have said, a pretty dicey affair. That's true of most small scenarios, but here it's exacerbated by the German PzII coming on on Turn 4. No matter how things have gone till then, the German player is always in with a chance to simply drive it, BU, into the VC hexes on the last turn, stay in Motion, and hope for good luck. Which is exactly what happened in our game. On turns 3 and 4, my (German) dice were crazy bad (averaging a whopping 8.94 average on 16 IFT rolls, e.g.) and the infantry attack was completely stymied, and the other three AFVs were destroyed by a bunch of low rolls. Didn't matter, cause I held back the PzII on turn 4, then charged it into the VC hexes on turn 5. My turn to get lucky, as the two pop-guns and CC could not get him: German win. We didn't mind a close, last turn CC decider in itself (that is actually as much as you could hope for), but rather the fact that whatever the Danish (or German) player does earlier in the game, this endgame is more or less inevitable, taking away from the agency of the players. It feels a bit like playing a game of football (the real football, aka soccer by some) and then, whatever the result, having a all-decisive penalty shoot-out at the end. | ||

| 2025-03-31 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | Danish win | 3 hrs | Felt tough on the Germans but a lack of coordination on my side didn't help! | |
| 2025-03-29 | (D) Jim Liang | vs | Craig Renier | Danish win (VASL Log) | Despite inflicting serious losses on the German infantry, the Germans still had a chance to win during the last two turns with their remaining two AFVs (Pz IIF and PSW 222); however, the Danes were able to prevent them from remaining Mobile (D.7) during turns 4 and 5. | ||
| 2025-03-29 | (A) Craig Renier | vs | Jim Liang | Danish win | The Germans attacked in two groups, initially moving forward quickly with help from good sD rolls. But the open ground required the Germans to frequently take -2 attacks from the Dutch. Losses slowly mounted while time quickly passed. The Germans took progressively riskier moves with the expected increased losses. Frustrated by the failure to break Dutch units (26 IFT rolls, with only 8 MCs and only 1 of those failed), the German reinforcement charged one of the Dutch AT guns located in a building covering the crossroads. The AFV was only able to pin the crew while the AT gun immobilized the AFV. This left only one German AC to position itself in the crossroads. The AC car suffered Shock on Turn 5 leaving the win for the Dutch. | ||

| 2025-03-14 | (D) Rob Schmitt | vs | Tom Meier | German win | Round One - 2025 KC March Madness Tournament. I was Danish Defender. Danish did well up to the very last turn. I slowed his infantry assault, and he kept his 4 AFVs out of range until the his last turn. I had an MMG covering the right flank and AT gun still working on the left. He was able to successfully run an AFV down the right flank and multiple shots for Infantry and MMG did not stop him. He eventually overran my last AT Gun which missed with both regular and Intensity fires. I did not have sufficient forces left to counter attack in last half of the turn and conceded. | ||

| 2025-03-11 | (A) Eric Partizan Eric | vs | Douglas Leslie | Danish win | |||
| 2025-03-11 | (D) Douglas Leslie | vs | Eric Bongiovanni | Danish win | Quirky early war scenario with half a dozen Danish squads trying to maintain control of a crossroads (hence the scenario title) against ten German squads supported by three armour armoured cars with a light tank reinforcing on the penultimate turn. The Germans have a lot of open ground to cover to reach the crossroads and only five turns in which to do it. Ploughed fields help to slow the German advance. I set up all my units in and around the stone buildings near the crossroads and did very little movement after that. Eric did a lot of deployment to improve the survival chances of the advancing German infantry but the problem was that it was very difficult for the Germans to bring significant firepower to bear on the Danish infantry. The Danes didn’t help, their cause by breaking both of their ATGs. One was subsequently disabled and removed but the other recovered to eliminate two AFVS including the MkIIF and leave the German infantry without any armoured support. That was pretty fortuitous and allowed the Danes to hold on for the win. This is a challenging assault for the Germans but they can win simply by driving the MkII into one of the crossroads hexes and staying in motion on the final turn. With a frontal AF of 3 against an ATG TK of 6, the Dane’s need to roll well to kill it, even at close range. It makes for a bit of a dicey scenario but quite fun to play if time is limited. | ||

| 2025-03-07 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | Danish win | 3 hrs | Germans were forced off the victory locations on the final turn. | |
| 2025-02-22 | (D) Jon Jaramillo | vs | David Perham | German win | 4 hrs | First round of the Championship round robin at WCM 2025. 4-0 on Friday, I still somehow managed to draw Honus as my first round opponent, which is a bit like winning 110 games in baseball and getting the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. I couldn't afford any miscues against a player of Dave's caliber. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong in this one. Dave managed to overrun one gun in turn one and I was never able to hit it in my own hex, eventually breaking it. Then I hit another AFV 6 times without doing any damage. Then, the leader with the elite squad and lmg plus a first line squad that routed to him and rallied were hit with a low odds morale check. The leader went Berserk and took both squads with him. In my turn AFTER Mph. So Dave just ran every unit up to him and surrounded him. Of course every shot they took, down 2, down 3, I rolled a 9 or 10. That was the game. I don't think it's a coincidence that every 1st round at Melee the Danes lost and were eliminated. I don't think this scenario should have been included in a championship with 6 plays on ROAR but nobody pays me for my opinion. I think this scenario was dicey AF. | |
