Overview:
While the Axis forces slowly fell back towards Messina, the Big Red One kept up the pressure through the difficult terrain of central Sicily. The opposing Italians were fighting on native soil now, but their leadership hadn’t improved. As Gruppo Schreiber prepared for a combined-arms counterattack into Alimena, elements of the 26th Regimental Combat Team moved in ahead of them.

2016-10-24(D) Tom Kearney vs Lindsey Murillo Italian winI won due to skulking.
2013-08-07(D) Martí Cabré vs Jesus Pie American winThe Americans have huge firepower and better vehicles. I quickly occupied the stone locations and slowly gave way trying to buy time, but the last two turns I had horrendous dice rolls (including a notorious four 6,6 in a row rallying units) and all my defense crumbled into dust. At the end there was no Italian unit in the map.
2013-08-07(A) Jesus Pie vs Martí Cabré American winMy Americans finally cleared Alimena from Marti’s Italians. A well-played game by Marti, that holds bravely until the turn 6, when a horrible string of rolls (three 6.6 at the RPh and one more at the PFPh, that breaks the gun of his remaining AG) lead to the Italian collapse. A good game and a good scenario.
2012-03-15(A) Frank Tozier vs Tom Sharp Italian winAmericans have the fire power advantage. Careful sighting of the mmg's can inhibit Italian movement.
