Overview:
A strong Russian force with anti-tank guns occupied Point 125. It was imperative to clear this area before morning when the German general offensive would be continued. Normally the task of eliminating such a position would fall to infantry supported by mortars and artillery. But that was not the way of the Waffen-SS. In an extraordinary decision the 12th SS Panzer commander ordered the hill taken by armor in quite an unconventional attack.Attacker: German (SS) (560th Heavy Panzerjäger Battalion and 2nd SS Panzer Battalion)
