The 5307th Composite Unit, Merrill’s Marauders, was ordered to envelop major Japanese positions in the northern Burma area in order to make the defenses at Jambu Bum untenable. The 1st Battalion took a western approach through the Hukawang Valley. The terrain was rugged with steep slopes and dense jungle. The 1st Battalion’s route contained only one major avenue, the Tingkrung Hka Trail, which the Japanese were patrolling heavily. Contact was made with the Japanese on 14 March, alerting a 150 soldier strong company to the American presence.

This was an outstanding scenario. The dense jungle was challanging for both parties and the momentum went back and forth as my Japaneese really put it to Tom's US in CC. However, I made a critical tactical error in the next to the last turn and was unable to recover from it allowing Tom to easily reach level 1 of the victory hill. Highly recommend this scenario, it's a lot of fun and for short boards with dense jungle has a lot of maneuver.

Japanese went for a fighting withdrawal. Cautious American attack made progress without loss but too slowly. As things heated up from the third turn, the Allies were unlucky with ambush rolls and CC losses soon made themselves felt. Seems very difficult for the Allied player; perhaps the Kachin need to join the American flank and unhinge the Japanese to open a way through, rather than trying for the hill on their own.

Double One 2020 virtual tournament.
A disasterous attack by the Americans, couldn't keep concealment as stripped by every Japanese attack and 95% failure on resulting morale checks. called it at American Turn 3 with only 2 and half original americans squads, the 8-0 leader plus a hero in play and all brokies dying for FTR. For the japanese one striped and a k result that battle hardened the resulting hs.

Last game of 2015. Andy got ripped up due to ROF and Snipers. The scenario is quite good. The Japanese must have a layered defence and not excessively commit to anything.

great game! Tight, dense jungle. the US looked like they were going to lose until the end when Japanese mmg/hmg's could not get the job done. lost the hill hexes and lost the CC.

American/Kachin win
Very nice little dense jungle infantry scenario. Japanese hurt themselves with an early banzai. Then the American mangled the entry of the Kachin partisans. Looked like a sure Japanese victory but a big run of dice luck in multiple late game CCs gave the victory to the Allies.
