Overview:
The 4th Parachute Brigade moved to seize the high ground around Koepel. However, the German defensive line along the Dreyenseweg, a road running north from Oosterbeek, would have to be overcome. Manning this line were elements of Kampfgruppe von Allworden, consisting of dismounted anti-tank gunners from SS-Panzerjager-Abteilung 9, supplemented by Naval personnel and supported by halftracks and self-propelled guns.

2017-04-29(A) Bob Davis vs Steve Miller German (SS) win
2015-05-09(D) Jeff B vs Chad Cooper British winThe British have very little time to scoot for the exit so have to push hard and fast. In any small scenario the balance of power can shift quite swiftly on the roll of a few dice, and that's what happened here. The Germans thought they had a good end-game position to at least pin/break a squad or two to deny the British the victory, but a tricky bypass LOS foiled their plans. An extremely enjoyable and fast-playing game.
2014-10-09(A) Gordon Jupp vs Kurt Berger British winASLOK 2014. Fun game with Kurt who made me work hard. I got lucky with the destruction of the flak wagen by the PIAT and I then ran for the woods and despite pressure from the Germans managed to exit sufficient VP.
2014-07-16(A) X von Marwitz vs Michael Koch British winPlayed this one as the British which is probably more fun than as the German defender. ROAR has it quite balanced with between 30-40 games for each side. The British may not dally in this one. They should have the possibilty to shift their Schwerpunkt one time during the scenario if the quickly find out the weakest point in the German defence. In my game, I selected the southern flank after figuring out where the M÷belwagen and the ht were. I had the impression, that a few good or bad rolls on either side may swing this short scenario in either direction. I managed to flank the 42V2 in force to take the more time consuming way through the woods. The last half turn was needed to exit all the required units (and then some). I could have lacked the crucial time if some few rolls would have turned out differently so that crossing the R3-W4 road would have been more hazardous. Probably by choice, I would not play the scenario a second time.
2014-01-18(D) Michael Focht vs Gary Fortenberry British win
