The German advance towards Prokhorovka continued. SS Panzergrenadier Division 1 led the 2nd SS Corps advance, smashing its way through enemy positions. However, the attacks of the supporting 2nd and 3rd SS Panzergrenadier Divisions fell behind, and the 1st SS flanks were exposed. The 2nd SS Panzergrenadier Division regrouped and continued its attack eastward. A combined force of the 183rd Rifle Division and 2nd Tank Corps comprised most of the defenses directly to the eats of the 2nd SS. The Russians had left a rearguard in the village of Ivanovskii-Vyselok while occupying stronger positions further east with the bulk of their forces. The German grenadiers were forced to clear the village house by house through the rubble.
