The Hungarian Mobile Corps attacked towards Novoye Odessa. It was here where an infantry company from the newly deployed Italian Pasubio Division attached itself to the Hungarian 1st Motorized Brigade, ostensibly to augment its infantry strength. Northwest of Nikolaev this combined force attacked the Russians entrecnhed around the small village of Petrovksoye. As the Hungarians and Italians entered the village, a Russian armored attack entered the fray. Light tanks from both sides slugged it out while the infantry from three unions fought a fierce hand-too-hand battles for the trenches and the few buildings.
