"A Nail in the Coffin"-- On October 3, 1941, 4.Armee went on the offensive as part of Operation Typhoon to destroy the armies defending Moscow and, in the hopes of German high command, win victory in the summer. The resistance was fierce and StuG-Abteilung 202, in a baptism of fire, suffered heavy losses and was reduced the following day to four vehicles. Nevertheless, on the 6th, the 4.Armee pierced and sought to encircle the armies of the Western Front. The bicycle company of the 183.Iinfanterie-Division and two StuG aimed at Dorogobouj and the Dniepr River, 30 kilometers away. On the 7th, in the early afternoon, they arrived in front of the city where there was some confusion. Despite the lack of ammunition, both StuGs of 1. Batterie StuG-Abteilung 202 went on the attack.
