Overview:
A full SS panzer-grenadier company mounted in halftracks and supported by Panther tanks from the 5th SS Panzer Division “Wiking” attacks to clear a farmstead and relieve the besieged Penal Battalion 560. Will the fifteen Russian squads and six SU-76ms from the 44th Rifle Division overrun their village before help arrives?

2019-06-18(D) Jeff B vs Magnus Rimvall Russian winThis is a really interesting scenario that has a high replay value. The Russians have a very tough task. They need to have GO MMCs in at least one building scattered over 2.5 boards. The problem is that most of these buildings are single hex structures and they face an overwhelming number of vehicles. They do have six SU-76Ms of their own, and one hard choice here is what to do with them. Do you line them up behind the elevated RR and try to blast as many HTs as possible, or do you try to hide and stay alive as long as possible? Another difficult decision is how to divide up your infantry, and how strong of an attempt do you make to grab Germantown? I tried to balance delaying the German rescue force as long as I could, while making a swift strike into the village. In the end I managed to hold on to at least one building in the north for the victory, but I think I would want the Germans every time in this one. A fun, swirling scenario though.
