Pratzen Crossroads	CSR 47L AT Gun went on a rate tear on Turn 1 Defensive Fire and knocked out the MIV and MKIII. Then the ATR got a critical hit on another MKIII. After that, it was a bloody fight, but once the CSR tanks came on board that was it for the Germans.	grumblejones

Von Arnim Unloads	I doubt very much the Axis troup could win this scenario with no number superiority less SW support, and only 6 turns (at least 4 turns to cross the distance to the victory area, pass through French defenders and 2 turns left to make all the defenders not good order). It clearly looks like one of the most unbalanced SK scenario published to date. Even the balance could not save this one.	lt_steiner

The Devil's Free to Have a Try	Russian pressure nearly broke the axis. Then the tide turned.	RJenulis
The Governor	Second playing of this scenario, this time taking the defending Vichy French, and another loss - although again it was a very close game. I deliberately left the northern side relatively weak, as I thought that I could shift my forces across if the Aussies attacked there, which they did. However, I underestimated how quickly they could reach level 2 and infiltrate my positions, which meant that I quickly lost the few defenders I had there and had to give a lot of ground before I could coordinate my defence. This left me significantly outnumbered and the Aussies were able to push through for the win on their last turn. Some different DRs might have changed things, but overall I can't complain - well played by my opponent.	Andy_Bagley
Panthers under the Tree	Americans won due to amazing dice bot rolls. 57L AT Gun knocked out the Sherman, and 2 x Panthers in the first Defensive Fire. Snakes definitely gave the Americans the edge throughout the game. All 4 Panthers were eliminated by Turn 4 for the immediate American win.	grumblejones
Into Vienna Woods	First experience with alpine hills and with pine woods for the attacker. Following advice from here, I prioritized taking some positions in the trenches by the time the Russian reinforcements arrived. This was successful, and the cavalry took some loses, including a blazed SU-85 (which generated smoke on the hill because we got a mild breeze!). At the beginning of the last half-turn, all level 3 hexes were actually controlled by the Germans, but what a difference who wraps up the scenario makes! The OT Russian vehicle made a run to the hill, reaching one of the empty hexes, and also a lot of Russian infantry advanced into close combat against weakened Germans (which didn't matter, because just the OT vehicle occupying one hex would make the Germans lose). Very enjoyable scenario, the alpine hills and pine woods mechanics make it extra interesting.	mestravis

Another Summer's Day	This is a rough one for the Americans for sure. Be prepared for Americans to overwhelmed and losing units. They shouldn’t go toe-to-toe vs Germans. Watch your rout paths. And don’t forget… just one 7-4-7 with a BAZ with LOS to VC road will win the scenario	toddgrx

War of the Rats	The Russian defense set up full forward and could hold the attack pretty well, but eventually the central and right-hand building were under German control. Although the German MMG and 9-2 leader set up in the left-hand side, that assault was slower, and once the (late) Russian reinforcements arrived by Turn 5, it was not enough for the Germans to seize that building. I can only think that if the reinforcements had arrived earlier, it would've been even more difficult, but still the crux would've been on the left-hand building.	mestravis
All Available Weaponary	Lost a couple of tanks on the initial assault, but did a successful Human Wave to get into the 88's location. From there the Russians made slow and steady progress through the village.	dmareske

Hill 253.5	Exciting Game with Germans with some lucky shots to shutdown the Russian MMG's in T1, which gave the Germans an early assist. Well placed Wire, and Mines took out the 2 Halftracks which were pushed forward as sacrificial units. The Russian Sniper was active and killed the Leader controlling the Radio which stopped German OBA early on, with the Germans subsequently capturing the Russian radio before their OBA proved too effective. Stukas arrived late, and Russian FB's arrived the next turn. Stukas were able to take out one KV, as well as the reinforcing Leader with Assault Squad hiding in a Wooden Building, as they sought to drop their bombs before being jumped. Russians went straight into dogfight 3 on 3 as we both rolled good for numbers. Unbelievably the Stukas won the Dogfight forcing 2 Russians into Recall for the loss of one Stuka to Recall. At this point the Russians resigned holding the last 2 Level 3 hexes, but with only one Leader, one KV and not much infantry the German untouched tanks would likely take full control with the 3 turns remaining. Cibik's Ridge	I put many MGs and good leaders up front to ambush the columns. Got 6 CVP in the first Japanese MPh and so had a third of the needed CVP. But the Japanese keep coming, and the Americans have to fall back to and up the hill while trying to extract CVP from the Japanese every turn. I was at 19 of 21 CVP needed as we started Turn 8. The Japanese needed one more hex, but even if they took it, I was going to extract at least two more CVP, so we called it. Great scenario.	ubertripp

Released from the East	The aggressive central assault was successful and at the end of Turn 4 the Russians controlled the central building. The tactical reserve fought intensively for the right-hand building but in the end needed to win two Melees, neither of which was resolved by the end of the game. On the left-hand side, the attack was weaker and only on the last turn could the Russian force a Melee with worse odds. Suxy Beasts	There are very limited options for the German attack. The light woods mean that concealment is almost impossible. The PFZ make it easy for the French to fire on the Germans as they approach. The Germans might have a chance to win on CVP if the StuGs keep their AP.	mtrodgers99

Black Devils of Bure	Gave Germans balance which wasnt alot of help. I took the PIATs and hero. I set up heavy on my left. Attack went the long way around on my right. We got heavy snow in turn 2. Right flank fell back and delayed long enough that it became impossible for the Germans to get enough building hexes. ASLOK XL	nebel
Rail War	Definitely a fun scenario. Opponent and I thought it was hard on Russian to get all the VP needed. His FT got 5-6 shots with several K/ results but only 1 ammo car.	nebel

The Beasts Have Arrived	Defense was mostly back in the village limiting my casualties early. Looked good for me at first. I drove a Tiger iinto his HIP ATG hex in the village. In DFire opponent rolled low got APCR and rat and killed that Tiger and another one adjacent that had moved earlier. His DFire pinned or broke all my squads on german right. Then in his prep he broke the rest of those 5 squads on consecutive shots to allow him to swing a leader around and kill everyone for FTR. Very fun scenario but Germans need a boost.	nebel

The Red House	Very close game.	cscottk
Guderian's Foxes	Played the Russian very aggressively and suffered heavy losses through three turns and then dice and Russian luck started to crack the German defense on the right. The T-34's helped roll up the remaining resistance and then the Cavalry rode in and right to a victory location. Together with the T-34's the cavalry secured the second victory location for the win.	grumblejones
Paper Army	This is a rough scenario for both sides. The Italians need to simply make a run for it using at least three leader stacks and going CX whenever they can. Italians can't really afford to do much else with those units or they won't make it across the board. The only thing the Italians can reasonably expect to do is leave a "harassing force" behind in the woods to delay the Greeks as much as possible. The variable is the flanking force of Greeks. If they come in on Turn 2 (which they did for us), then the Italians will have to deal with them... at least in part if Italians split their forces. If the flanking force comes on later, then perhaps a bulk of the Italians can reach the tree line near the west side of the board before and set up a defense. (VASL Log)	toddgrx

Gavin Take	Germans ran 1.5 squads and a leader back to the bridge and the exit hex. Gavin and the 10-2 led some squads across the middle from the town, behind the bocage line to flank the single stone building on the German left. They fired on the blocking units, eliminating the squad and HS but only wounding the leader who was still in the exit hex. Final turn rush: Americans artfully used infantry smoke to obscure the 9-1 directed three squads, 2 MMG, and LMG on level 1 of the creamery, and then made a mad dash with Gavin and 747. They had "just" enough MF to go into the wounded leader's hex for SMC Overrun and then advance off, but the 24 up 1 DFF shot resulted in a morale check that Gavin just passed but pinned. Squad could not move far enough (CX'd the previous turn) to do the overrun. German victory from a pin result. Can't get much closer than that. Steve felt that the Americans did not stand a chance for most of the game, but he made it very, very close at the end.	pensatl1962

The Cemetery	I believe the ROAR record is skewed because of errors of play in the night rules. Four people good with night rules played this at ASLOK. In one game the Germans defended along the wall of the cemetery. In the other game, the Germans defended inside the cemetery tight around the building, waiting to blast the Partisans when they crossed the wall. Both versions easily beat the Partisans.	mtrodgers99
Tip of the Spear	Defense in Depth aided by Americans lack of carrying much smoke allowed me to delay and fall back just enough. The Puma's all died defending their streets and mostly just helped delay the Americans. In the last turn I still had 5 locations, my opponent had troops in place and enough armor to assist but my troops didn't break so there were just too many CC to win for 4 US squads. ASLOK XL	nebel
A Medal For G Company	I put two trenches on the middle hill. I put one trench and one pillbox on the left (to the German) hill. On the rearmost hill I put wire in the pillbox hex with an AP12 mine counter. The four hexes in front of it had three wires and one AP6 mine. The mortars covered the pillboxes with fire. My American opponent did not come close to taking the third hilltop.	mtrodgers99

Soon to be Dead	Took an extra squad in balance which was erased on two shots in the first turn. Attack on the south went well. on the west I was able to hook around and reach the northern edge of the village. A couple of his Shermans were absolute monsters and I believe I lost 6-7 squads to 2 tanks despite being in terrain and/or smoke. No other way past him as he was able to take out both JgPz. Just a little short. Good interesting scenario but it takes a while to get going with pregame rubble and debris. ASLOK XL	nebel

Broich Bash	The US attack came from the long board edge, mostly in the NW corner. I had a 9-1/HMG/247 in a second level and was able to take a couple of lucky shots. I think this made the US a bit hesitant. Said MG next also got a few shots in as the US emerged from the woods around 24H10. The US only tried for WP once (with a MTR) and failed. They didn't try for SMOKE again (save a few infantry smoke grenades). I was fortunate to keep a coherent defence. In the end, the US didn't come close to gaining enough points. It's an interesting scenario, to be sure, and one I would play again. A lot depends upon how the German HMG in the second level (is there really another place for it) fares, and how successful the US is at getting SMOKE. They have WP7 with a MTR and two M24. The M24 also have s5 and sM, and that coveted smoke number of 3 on their squads. If the HMG goes on a tear (like in our match), it will be very tough on the US.	Indy Lagu

Sidi Omar	Fun, but not necessarily good. I think scenario could do with a little tweaking to make it exciting for both sides. But, as it stands, the British have to bet on an entire first turn of being shot at, dropping off the artillery leader, and effectively using as much smoke as possible. Without doing this, you may find yourself victim to the numerous, fast, Italian guns. Even though they don't have the best performance, ROF 3 makes it likely that they will hit you often enough to knock out your tanks. In my case, the Italians got incredibly lucky, knocking out about 6 tanks by the end of Game Turn 1 and outright killing the leader with the radio. I didn't even bother with Air Support as by the time they were relevant, the Brits had exhausted most of their forces. Make the artillery mandatory turn 1 from an offboard observer, change the air support to 1 plane automatically on turn 4, and I think the scenario is at least a little more fun for both sides. Latest News

A new publisher in the shop!

Le Franc Tireur have joined the ranks of third party publishers who will be selling digital packs on the shop.

Their first publication in English (and some French!), LFT #8, is now available via LFT #8's publication page and features both the 90+ page magazine and 10 scenarios, for $24.

LFT are trialling the service and if there's enough interest he will be adding many more publications, so if you can support them either through words of encouragement or by purchasing the pack, we have more digital content to look forward to!

The Publications page has had a minor face-lift and I've amended the scenario recommendations to exclude scenarios recommended that have the same name as scenarios you've already played before.

Site updates!

There's some updates to the scenario pages and the "My Page" that help find fun scenarios to play, based on other player's recommendations.

On the scenario page, you can see other scenarios that have been rated highly, based upon user ratings who have rated the initial scenario highly. (It's all a bit complex but it does try to quell the problem of good, popular scenarios outranking lesser played scenarios that might have a higher correlation).

On your "My Page" I've updated the games played and the publications owned tables to be a little more useful, and made an effort to speed up the rendering of the page, too. There's also a scenario recommender on there that takes into account scenarios that you have rated highly, and the input of other players - and checking that you haven't already played that scenario before (no promises on scenarios that have been released multiple times though, currently!)
