Overview:
The fight for Mézière-sous-Ballon started the Normandy campaign for the French 2ème Division Blindée. With the U.S. 15th Army Corps, it was part of the southern move to encircle the Germans in the Falaise Cauldron. On the 10th of August 1944, the first elements of Groupe Minjonnet met a strong and well-concealed German force from the just arrived 9.Panzer-Division in the woods and bocage near the hamlet of les Sablons just before arriving in Mézière-sous-Ballon.
Attacker: Free French (Elements of 4ème Escadron, 12ème Régiment de Chasseurs d’Afrique with 3ème Section, 7ème Compagnie, 2ème Régiment de Marche du Tchad, 2ème Division Blindée)
Defender: German (Elements of 2.Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment.33 and elements of 3.Kompanie, Panzer-Pionier-Abteilung.86, 9.Panzer-Division)

Clarification: Either you make a breakthrough with a sizeable force and the losses are not very important or you make a mre cautious advance that can be called a victory only if it doesn't cost you to much losses. So, the CVP cap is only for the building control VC.Lionel Colin on Gamesquad

2018-04-05(A) Tom Kearney vs Alan Saltzman Free French winA pair of critical hits against a MkIV and an infantry squad in a key position, combined with a malfunctioned PaK 38 allowed the Free French to swarm the remaining German defenders. It was over by turn 3.
2018-04-05(D) Tom Kearney vs Alan Saltzman German winThe Free French initially showed that they were going to attempt to flank the German positions by maneuvering across the top of the map to their left. They then switched their axis of advance to a frontal assault that was met with heavy fire. The Free French were unable to establish an effective attack and conceded by turn 3.
2018-03-24(D) Stephen dedier vs Reenstra, Dave Free French winAny game against Dave is going to be difficult but his Free French overwhelmed my Germans. I had setup to cover the town while having enough forces to deter an end around to the North. French forces drove straight into the town. I managed to take out a couple of tanks with a HIP shreck and a faust. Otherwise, it was never really in doubt. I made poor use of my PzIVs causing no harm. I would play very differently again but the Germans have an awful lot of armor agains them. I think better use of the HIP units and dummies to get shots at the halftracks would be a better approach with more consolidation of the German troops.
2018-01-03(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso German winEvery veteran ASL player should seriusly consider to play this scenario. It's not for the faint of heart, my German opponent consider throwing the towel more than one time, I'm myself not the towel throwing type, but I consedered my situation hopeless more than one time. Yet we continued playing until the very end, when some decisive dice rolls were made, it went down to the last rolls but it was 50/50 stuff. Great scenario from a scenario designer that I admire. Well done Lionel. Cannot wait to put another one of yours onto the gaming table.
