So Steve, my regular opponent, and I are going to a tournament in January 2016. To get ready for it we wanted to play some tournament sized scenarios that were balanced and fun to play, as these are usually the types of scenarios the tournament director picks.
Using ROAR as our source, we picked seven scenarios that are evenly balanced (no greater than 51/49 balance), based on at least 50 recorded games played, and with a a fun rating of no less than 5.
The resulting seven scenarios all earn their right to be considered classics. We played all until the last turn, and many until the last CC phase.
I won three and Steve 4, but each and every game was close and could have gone either way. As is often the way with smaller tournament sized scenarios, a few lucky dice rolls can win the game, but that is often the fun with these types of games.
there are six different producers included in the list, only two scenarios come from MMP, one each from Bounding Fire Productions, Windy City Wargamers,
schwerpunkt, Tactiques and Friendly Fire.
You may think you are on the wrong side of a kicking, and then a couple of good results can change it back in your favour.
I would play any of these scenarios again as either side. Give them a go, and if you are thinking of going to a tournament soon, these may just well be the types of scenarios you should play to get ready.
