Overview:

American forces in Bataan had surrendered the day before. Now it was Cebu Island's turn to feel the weight of the Japanese attack. Realizing that they could not defend the island with the few Filipino troops pressed into service, the garrison commanders had initiated a large-scale movement of goods, supplies, and weapons into the interior. Defending the capital was the Cebu Military Police Regiment under the command of Lt. Colonel Howard Edmunds. His mission was to hold long enough to allow the demolitions teams time to complete their work to block the roads and destroy the bridges and then fall back into the hills.
Attacker: Japanese (124th Infantry Regiment, 35th Brigade, 18th Division)
Defender: Filipino (Cebu Military Police Regiment)

Both sides amass VP per the hexes listed in SSR 3; if the Japanese do not earn the listed VP by clearing the set DC, then the Filipinos do. Filipino units do not Disrupt.MMP

2024-04-14(D) Vic Lauterbach vs JM Japanese winMy defensive setup didn't work. The Filipino 336s don't have enough firepower to stop the Japanese unless concentrated in stacks. Fire lanes didn't even slow them down! This one is very unforgiving to a poor setup. Next time, I'd opt for a rapid retreat and force the Japanese to get their VP by clearing the set DC instead of destroying my force. Jim: I opted to go after the defenders and ignore the DCs. Even second line Japanese (ELR 4) are formidable charging, and my initial banzai cracked Vic's position. By the end of GT5, the VP count was 19 to 6 in my favor, and it was over. This one was interesting, but not very exciting.
2021-07-17(A) Shane Pask vs Filipino winThis is the third clearance type scenario I have tried and the third one I have failed to clear anything. If I had managed to clear 1 DC I was in with a chance, 2 I may have won. The time is very tight for the Japanese. If the bombs went off at the end of the game turn instead of the start, maybe I could have pulled it off.
Knew it was hopeless when the 10-1 went down in CC turn 5.
2014-06-24(A) Daniel Soukup vs Jeff B Japanese win
2014-06-24(A) Jeff B vs Daniel Soukup Filipino winAn absolute bloody mess. Japanese failed to disarm the final DC on the last turn. The green Americans didn't cower once. The goofy VC left a gamey taste in my mouth.
2012-04-05(D) Steffen Knippel vs Chas Argent DrawReal life prevented Chas from finishing.
