Overview:
Maleme airfield had fallen and the Germans were flying in ME109s, artillery and a mountain division. Crete was doomed. The entire 5th Brigade was ordered to fall back to a new defense line while the 28th Maori Battalion acted as rearguard. The exhausted Maoris would have to make for the new line while being pursued by fresh German mountain troops.Attacker: New Zealand (28th Maori Bn, 5th NZ Brigade)
