Overview:

The 25th Infantry Division landed on Luzon two days after the offensive to retake the island had begun. The division had much combat experience, but had been receiving and training a significant number of replacements. The Japanese 2nd Tank Division was also an experienced unit, and was ordered to counterattack American forces on the beach. This turned out to be unsuccessful and costly. Their next task was to create defensive strong points around key villages and the routes inland. Around San Manuel the emplaced antitank guns and dug-in tanks, including M2 Stuarts, fields of fire were cleared for these weapons. The 2nd Battalion, 161st Regiment was ordered to make an attack, supported by tanks, to quickly seize San Manuel.

2024-07-28(A) walter mcwilliams vs Tom Kearney American winVery difficult for the US my two game win streak came to an end.
2024-03-17(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. DrawMy friend and I played this one like rookies. We made lots of simple mistakes that we never make. We called it mid turn 3 when I started my PFPh. My friend suddenly realized he forgot to bring on his tank reinforcements at the top of the turn (I forgot about them as well or I would have reminded him). I told him to just bring them on next turn, but coupled with all our other flubs, we decided to end it. Maybe the Americans were winning at that point. The Japanese have to get good fire production those first few turns or they will get swarmed. My shots were below average, and I was on my way to falling back when we called it. Not good in a 10 turn scenario. We called it a draw and moved on.
2022-10-16(A) Rob MacGinley vs Ian Willey American winThe IJA looks good initially and I thought they would really hold their own - Then... The USA gets the key reinforcements at the top of the game which makes it really hard - They mop up the town since your still committed!!
2022-03-30(D) Ian Morris vs Martin Mayers American winCame down to the last turn, Japanese rolled an awful lot of boxcars on weaponry early on, which slightly eased American progress. Scenario probably favours Japanese overall.
2010-06-12(A) Eric Partizan Eric vs Michel Bongiovanni Japanese win
