Overview:

On 9 July, the Soviets managed to create a bridgehead in the VKT Line at Vuosalmi. This was reinforced the following night with several divisions supported by armor. Finnish HQ realized the seriousness of the situation and ordered Maj. Gen. Lagus' armored divisions to the front with orders to eliminate the bridgehead. After several bloody skirmishes, it was evident that the bridgehead contained many more Soviets than the Finns had realized, so they changed their strategy to one of containment. The expected Russian breakout came on 12 July, led by the experienced 92nd Infantry Division, supported by armor.

2021-07-23(A) Will Willow vs D. Lamb Finnish winRussians got the balance.
2019-03-06(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Mauro Crestini Finnish winThe scenario is pretty unbalanced in favor of the finnish, the russian player has a difficult puzzle to resolve in order to get to those backyard houses, and the scenario is quite static for the finnish player.

2018-03-12(A) Jeff B vs Phil Wentworth Russian winAwesome game that came right down to the last MPh. The Finnish crew held off a swarm of Russians all by their lonesome, topping it off with a melee tying up a precious squad and leader at the end. Russians broke a key Finnish squad in the west during the previous DFPh which guaranteed them at least four squads reaching the goal line, but this same squad rallied right back to be a thorn in the following Russian RPh. This forced the Russians to use one of their remaining three tanks to VBM freeze him, which left the last two no choice but to head for the exit. This meant one squad had to run the gauntlet. Thankfully for them they had two different squads, both in position with leaders, that could reach it to safety. A fortuitously burning building in S4 left the Finns with a crappy shot to try and stop them, and the first of the two made it without a hitch.
2018-03-02(D) Jeff B vs Phil Wentworth Finnish winMy opponent tried for an easterly goal line push, which I thought might stand a chance, but his two tanks overshot his infantry and left them exposed to a PF shot, which blazed one up. When the other bogged in the woods things were not looking good for the Russians. Meanwhile the attack in the west got fairly ripped to shreds. When the eastern tank eventually mired on Turn 5 the Russians called it a day as there was no mathematical chance of reaching the VP zone, and no reasonable chance of taking the buildings.
