Overview:
The 7/10th Baluchis set up a defensive position at Kuzeik around a field of rice paddies surrounded by jungle. The battalion dug trenches to defend their position but felt exposed without wire. The Battalion commander surveyed the defense and was satisfied. Shortly after midnight, the Japanese 33rd Division launched their attack against the entrenched Baluchis hoping to surprise the defenders. However, the Baluchis were expecting the attack, and were anything but surprised,Attacker: Japanese (II/215th Regiment, 33rd Division)
