Overview:

The final phase of the 1st Marine Division's attack on the outskirts of Seoul began at 0700. The objective for 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines was the capture of Hill 105-N. Dog Company, on the left, and Easy Company, on the right, lead the attack, and were supported by fire from elements of the 3rd Battalion occupying An-san to the north, but additionally they were too pressed down the hill's spurs to help encircle Seoul itself. Although the way for the 2nd Battalion had been prepped by artillery fires and attacks by VMF-214, which lost an aircraft to flak in the process, the enemy across the way on Hill 72, "Nellie's Tit" to the Marines, was able to fire into the flanks of the Marine attack.
Attacker: American (USMC) (E and F Companies, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, and A Company, with H&S Company, 1st Marine Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division and VMF-213 "Black Sheep")
Defender: North Korean (Seoul City Regiment, the 78th Independent Infantry Regiment and the 25th Infantry Brigade with Hill 105-C Force and remnants from Smith's Ridge)
