Overview:

Rommel’s 7th Panzer Division had established a small bridgehead across the Somme, but the construction of a pontoon bridge was prevented by interdicting fire from the nearby town of Hangest. . . Self-propelled howitzers were brought forward to bombard the defenders, and an assault by motorcycle infantry was launched. The attackers slowly fought their way into Hangest, but the colonial infantry resisted fiercely even in the face of point-blank fire from the SP guns. . .
Attacker: German (Kradschützen Bataillon 7 and sIG-Kompanie 705)

2024-10-27(D) David Yllanes vs José Luis French win4.12 hrsVery enjoyable scenario. My opponent managed to keep his sIG functioning and placing smoke for the whole game, but took very few HE shots, while still denying important hexes. The first few turns everything seemed to be going my way, but then the tide turned and the Germans managed to cause many casualties, mostly through CC, while my MGs seemed useless. In the end, my HIP squad managed to hold two buildings by itself and gave me the win.

2023-08-26(A) Jonathan Kapleau vs Cusick, John French win
2023-05-09(A) Jack Wilson vs Eric Zagdan French winNo sense commenting on my attack plan as it was an absolute failure. With only two buildings controlled with 3 turns to go, I failed my PMC and resigned.

2021-05-17(D) Asad Rustum vs Jacob Elmqvist French win
2020-12-04(D) Stephen Solomon vs Chris Graff French winI played this back in the 90s and was looking forward to a re-play. The French defenders held on long enough to delay the Germans who took 9 of the required 11 buildings. The Germans just ran out of time as the game went down to the last turn. Scenario was a nail-bighter as I remembered from the olden days.
2020-08-20(A) rene cote vs mrosberg German winA last turn clincher. I neglected to stop one of his leader of taking back a VC building and on last turn realized to late that last building I could clear for victory was row house and was short of MF to reach all hexes.....(amendment: B23.71, Rowhouse bldg was controlled by entering a single hex) Lost a SiG to sniper and other to CC after a VBM-freeze. They put down lots of smoke to assist the manoueuver but never got pleasure of landing a 150mm shell in enemy location !
