Overview:

As part of the general counterattack launched by Vichy forces on the 15th and 16th of June, an attempt was made to retake the village of Merdjayoun in Lebanon. A two-pronged attack with tanks, cavalry and well supported by artillery was launched. On the northern road, the Scots Greys saw on that morning several tanks and 50 cavalrymen in the valley. After a short bombardment and well supported by more infantry with mortars and machineguns, the French launched their attack against the Greys.
Attacker: Vichy (7ème Régiment de Chasseurs d'Afrique, Groupment "Marion" and Cavalerie du Levant (Tcherkess))
Defender: British (Royal Scots Greys and 8th Australian Antitank Battery with 10th Field Battery)

2025-11-15(A) Lionel Colin vs Totilhus (Olivier) Vichy winOlivier lost the OBA early and his AT guns were not efficient enough to stop my tanks.
2025-11-15(D) O Ramaille vs Lionel Colin Vichy winThe British defense was spread out among the hills to slow down the Vichy advance. With the first French in view, the British called for offboard mortar support but they were used elsewhere. The French attacked strong and were able to eliminate sequentially the different nests of resistance with the help of the French mortar. The 2 pounder AT guns were not that much efficient to pierce the R35 armor. Only two of them were eliminated. The French were then able to wipe out the first two lines of defense and exit two R35, enough for victory.

2023-05-03(A) Andy Bagley vs Neil Brunger Vichy winInteresting scenario and probably more balanced than our experience would suggest. As the Vichy, I managed to overwhelm the Brits, but certainly had luck on my side to help me. The British OBA phone and one ATG both malf'd, the other ATG suffered a critical hit from my 81mm mortar at long range, and a British leader and squad went berserk, and were mown down trying to charge my HMG. A few more low DRs meant that by turn 5 the British had virtually nothing left, so conceded. I'd play this again though, as the terrain is interesting with lots of tricky LOSs amongst the hills and very little cover.
