Overview:
In response to reports of a French attack on a Thai border town, Thailand launched an offensive on Laos and Cambodia in a bid to drive the French out of their colonial holdings. While Thai forces quickly swept aside any resistance in Laos, the French response in Cambodia was more resolute. Determined to regain the initiative, the French conducted a mass counterattack at the Thai-held Cambodian village of Phum Preav. The stage was set for a battle of wills between a declining European colonial power and an emergent Asian state eager to exert its own influence in the region.Attacker: Vichy French (5e Régiment Légion étrangère ("Régiment du Tonkin") with Armored Support)
