Overview:

Field Marshal Model was beginning to comprehend the threat posed by the British at the Arnhem Road Bridge. He likewise understood the implications of the other Allied airborne landings and XXX Corps’ northward drive. Promising armor reinforcements for both kampfgruppen, Model demanded that Captain Knasut and Major Brinkman open the roadway south to Nijmegen. Knaust and Brinkmann sent heavily armed patrols forward to aggressively probe the British positions. One such attack came late in the morning from the industrial parks east of the bridge.
Attacker: German (SS) (Kampfgruppe Knaust and Brinkmann, SS-Panzer Division 9)
Defender: British (Company A, 2nd Parachute Battalion, 1st Parachute Brigade, 1st British Airborne Division)

2019-05-22(A) Dwayne Duval vs Kevin Duval British win
2017-10-08(D) Vic Lauterbach vs TS German (SS) winThis one is challenging-with 8 ML all around, it takes alot of firepower to break squads in stone buildings. I put the 57L in U14 to cover my left flank and the N-S road. Probing with two HS cost him one, but revealed my dummy stacks in Y18 and Y23. The main attack went for the wooden buildings, so I gave up Y14 and Y15 and concentrated in hexrow T. Good use of sD7, smoke grenades and a 50L CH cost me V22 and U22. My right flank collapsed before the 9-2 and PIATS arrived, and once he had S22 and 23, it came down to a fight for the S20 building and hunting Panzers with the two Heroes, but they lurked on the edge of PIAT range, and the only one I hit was saved by its Sz. Result: lost by 8 exit VP. It'd be fun to play this one on the CH ATB map that has a gap in the wooden buildings along the riverfront.
