Overview:

As the British troops in Calais were preparing to defend the town, the Rifle Brigade received orders to escort a column of ten-ton lorries loaded with rations for the British at Dunkirk. A composite force of infantry and tanks was made up to handle this task. Unfortunately, by the time the convoy moved out at 0400 hours, units of the 1st Panzer Division were already present in strength in the area. Halfway between le Beau Marais and Marck, three miles outside of Calais, the column met a strong German blocking position, with infantry and anti-tank guns positioned in the houses and allotments.

2025-04-06(A) John Garlic vs Bob Zinselmeyer British winVery good scenario, Rough on light tanks, but my HS swarm greatly helped infiltrate Germans and pull out victory.
2025-02-21(A) Jim Thompson vs Fabio Mazzucchelli German win
2023-06-27(D) Jack Wilson vs Lex L. German winLex was new to using AFVs which gave me an unfair advantage.
2023-06-26(A) Shaun Andrews vs Tim Osborne British winThis one came down to the last turn. I didn't think I had enough manpower to take the three remaining buildings but when I saw Tim fail to rally a broken unit in one of the three buildings I realized all he had securing it was a concealed leader. I took advantage of this and was able to pull off a win.
2023-06-11(A) Mark Thompson vs Gary Bartlett (German) British winThe German defense presented minimal forward skirmishers in favor of a strong center/rear and the British made swift progress in penetrating the village, with all AFVs remaining mobile. Turns 3 and 4 witnessed sharp exchanges which the British got the better of due to successful VBM freezes, which allowed their infantry to penetrate to the rear and capture or FTR the bulk of their foes. Then two events, one decisive, one "that's ASL" occurred: (1) the first un-HIP'd German 37L boxcar'd its first shot; and (2) two British HS with two HS of German prisoners were struck down crossing a street on 2 down 1 shot, and the re-armed German HSs firmly blocked the British line of advance, only to be VBM frozen and eliminated a turn later by PB AFPh shots. The Germans conceded in turn 5 after the second 37L fell in CC and 1.5 squads remained to face nearly the entire British OB, minus one Mk VI, one Carrier, and a few HS. A consistent theme: unlucky German IFT/TH/TK DRs.
2023-06-07(A) Craig Renier vs Steve Boro German winThe British struck at the German right and center using the infantry to clear the way for the armor. The tone of the attack was set early when the lone British Mortar had no smoke on the first roll. The German attacks were very effective while the British regularly failed their MCs. The British IFT attacks were low, but the Germans answered with low MC rolls. Being a bit too cautious through Turn 2, the British moved aggressively on Turn 3. However, the German defensive fire was devastating, achieving Ks and KIAs across the board. A German HS struck out on CC-Reaction Fire. Needing a 3 for a Immobilization, the Germans rolled a 2, wrecking the British AFV. With the heavy losses, and the German forces virtually intact, the British conceded knowing their was no way to dislodge the remaining defenders.
2023-05-28(A) Vic Lauterbach vs JM British winI drew the 7 ML Brits attacking Jim's 8 ML Krauts again like J50, just three years earlier! This time,
though, Jim's ATGs can easily knock out my AFVs, so mobility is the key. I pushed straight into town
with infantry and carriers while the tanks went cross country. Early malf DRs hurt Jim's defense, first
the 50 LMOR then the forward 37L. In GT2, one 37L crew broke and routed away from its gun, a surrounded 468 surrendered, another died in CC with a berserk HS, his 7-0 ELR'd to a wounded 6+1, and it seemed like Jim's would defense collapse. But nothing is easy in ASL, and it took a lot of hard fighting to reach the last two German positions on the back half of the VC road. I managed to get into melees in O4 and O6 for a narrow victory [per A.7]. Jim's comment: Killing 4 AFVs or 3 tanks is a must, so I put both ATRs up front but lost one fast. Down to one 37L, one ATR and the MMG early, I still killed both Carriers and immobilized three tanks but couldn't kill any! This one is exciting but requires some luck for a German win. Give them the balance.
2023-05-25(D) Steven Cummings vs Eric Zagden-Gross British win
2022-12-20(D) David Garvin vs Nick Faryna British winInitial British moves pretty much wiped out my screen. My AT Guns were ineffective, but later in the match my infantry stood tall; however, in the end, my forces fell to the Brits in a close match.
2020-06-09(A) Dave Mareske vs Dan Best British winA very close game. The Germans needed to destroy one more tank to get the win, but the British were in the village shooting away and breaking the Germans. Germans destroyed two tanks with the AT guns and two with an LMG. The ATRs did not do anything. Some good Melee wins for the British secured good positions towards the end of the game. I recommend this one!
2020-06-09(D) Dan Best vs Dave Mareske British win
2020-02-08(A) Shane Pask vs British winStarted poorly for the poms with two tanks hit with CH. Luck improved when one was a dud. It still took the whole 6 turns and only just made it. Luckily units held in melee are not good order and SMC don't count for victory.
2019-07-01(A) Scott Sherer vs John Ferrell British winThe Brits managed to pull this one out despite a slow start that had the Germans blunting the initial assault. The big turning point in the game came when my Brits managed a CH in the hex where the second German AT was still hidden. This opened up options for VBM freeze for the Brits and they managed to fix the Germans in place and clear the road via CC.
