Overview:

On the day following the landing and consolidation of the British airborne forces, the 10th SS Panzer Division was given the primary task of eliminating the British bridgehead in Arnhem. Throughout the day, with support from the Bucholt Training and Depot Battalion, the 10th SS-Panzer battled with the seasoned British veterans in bitter house-to house fighting.

2019-10-20(D) Richard Jenulis vs Bruce Billet British winWild West Fest 2019 (Final). Bruce & I mutually agreed to play this scenario for the final and give both sides the balance. We rolled for sides and I got the British. Lots of skulking by the British to preserve force until the reinforcements arrived. The SS make steady progress. A Broken 9-1 leader in building 1M4(?) denied the Germans the buildings needed at mid game and gave the British the auto-win. The OBA never made it past SR and was not a factor. Fun scenario, opponent and tournament. I look forward to playing with the BC more.
2019-08-16(A) Jeff B vs Andreas Reimer German (SS) win3.25 hrsI went into this with a fair amount of trepidation, but when the Brits had about half of their defense in the south I felt a bit better. I was still very concerned about a HIP unit in the easternmost building ADJ to my setup area, and with good cause. I sent a HS to scout it from top to bottom, and on his way downstairs in F1 he was bounced by a full British squad with a LMG. Him and a speedbump in C2 were dealt with by the end of the turn, and one building was mine. Unfortunately I lost my 9-1 to a sniper and two HS broke from their LLMCs. I also lost a HS to search casualties in stripping the concealment of the big G3 stack. Considering my 9-1 was carrying my radio I was not feeling well right off the boat. The British sniper would hound me all day. The Germans went "block by bloody block," taking buildings F3 and F6 in the next two turns and I thought we were exactly where we wanted to be. But, being a dunderhead, I misread the British reinforcement entry area as >6 instead of <6. Thankfully I had kept multiple armed units in each of the VC buildings. The Brits decided to go for broke against the easternmost wooden building, and they would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for the fact that my (now) broken units could rout upstairs to preserve control for one more turn. Considering he had thrown the kitchen sink into this attack and left the south protected by a sole squad he conceded at that point. Nice tournament-sized scenario.

2016-06-28(A) Andy Beaton vs Miguel McDowell British winMissed the turn 4 VC's due to a MMG squad who wouldn't break and couldn't miss, and a half squad hidden in just the wrong place.
2016-02-15(A) Andy Beaton vs Daniel Cardenas German (SS) winGermans got slowed by heavy sniper fire but couldn't be pushed out of their buildings in time. The OBA was key.
2015-10-06(A) Bill Brodie vs Steven Bond German (SS) winMy initial German attack suffered a couple of setbacks, and I only avoided the turn 4 immediate loss by the skin of my teeth. I was, however, able to use my OBA effectively to negate his major counter-attack using harassing fire. His 10-3 with two squad marched bravely into an open ground hex next to one of my buildings, luckily I was able to pin both squads.
This is a great scenario, both sides must attack and defend. Give this one a go!
