Overview:

Along the Minsk-Moscow highway, von Kluge’s Fourth Army made a last, desperate effort to dislodge the defending Russians b y an encircling attack from the south. The only real progress was made by the 258th Infantry Division which managed to capture the village of Burzevo. The 3rd Battalion of its 487th Infantry Regiment was ordered to hold there. The men of the regiment were anticipating a blessed respite from the -30 degrees F night. But at 0200 hours, the Russians counterattacked. . .
Attacker: Russian (20th Tank Brigade)
Defender: German (Bataillon III, Infanterie Regiment 478 reinforced)

2017-02-21(D) Martí Cabré vs Eoin Corrigan German winThis scenario is clearly unbalanced. I don't think the Russians can ever win it. The Germans don't need to do anything. Just wait for the turns to pass and win.

Russian turn 1 entry (view)pybarrondo2014-06-03 07:36:37
The Russian entry instructions are somewhat ambiguous: "enter on Turn 1 along the east or west edge." Note that the original Squad Leader scenario on which this is based had nearly identical OBs and specified the Russians enter "from any east and/or west edge hexes." Given the extremely lopsided record for the Germans, I do believe the entry instructions should allow Russian entry on east "and/or" west edge. The Russians have no chance if they enter on only one board edge.
