Overview:

By dawn of D-Day, Lt. Colonel Robert Strayer had pieced together a unit comprised of scattered men from three Parachute Regiments. Radio communication with HQ didn’t exist. All Strayer knew for certain was that his objective was to clear the southern causeway from Utah Beach. As the sun rose, he led his patchwork force toward the beach exits. Within minutes, the paratroopers encountered German resistance…

2022-01-10(D) Mark Thompson vs Craig N (aka NotSure) German winGermans deployed dummies as Level 2 overwatch in Chateau and as blockers to attack in center, and dispersed remaining units throughout board. Americans made consolidated attacked through grain in West defended by 1 4-4-7 and 1 4-6-7 and were able to reach woods, but 4-4-7 broke 1 HS and with risky FPF broke a squad and eliminated 8-1 leader. Most of the German OOB never made it into the fight, but a CX'ing 8-0 with 2 4-3-6s and 1 4-6-7 reached a good firing position on the Southern edge and prevented the exit of a HS, squad, and Hero with snake eyes on a 12 FP shot, KIA'ing the HS, breaking the squad, and wounding the hero. The die rolls were very unkind to the American smoke attempts, which may have been the difference in the game.
2021-09-26(D) Michael Rodgers vs Dean Limosani German winI used the dummies to be the level two overwatch. I spread the rest to cover most open ground hexes. I deployed two 447 squads. I defended the grain field on the American right with extra units. The Americans attacked their and suffered a few breaks. Germans broke as well, but some routed back to a leader in the woods. Overall, the American losses and delay were too much to overcome.
2021-09-26(A) Michael Rodgers vs Dean Limosani American winThe Americans pushed through the grain field on their right. Only one real German 236 was in there. Many reached the first woods on the first turn.
2020-09-04(D) Jason Nichols vs Chris_nl German winGermans set up spread out to cover most avenues of approach. Americans entered in force but were unable to capitalise on their superior firepower. A lucky 8 down 2 shot that resulted in snakes sealed their fate on turn 4 for a German win.
2020-09-02(D) David Ramsey vs Dave Mareske American winThe Americans came in numbers down the German left flank. The hero manning the MMG was indeed heroic and held off the German defenders who struggled to relocate and in the end it was a comfortable win for the US.
