Overview:

On 28 August 1937, the Council of Asturias established at the port of Gijon, declared itself an independent territory and dismissed the supreme commander of the northern army, General Gamir. On 1 September, the Nationalists launched a campaign with their Army of the North. Facing them were the remnants of the 14th Army and the 17th Army Corps, bolstered by twenty-six Russian officers under Goriev. The 'immediate mission' was to 'advance to the west in the double direction Llabres-Ribadesella and Arenas-Cangas, reaching the line of Bedon river from the shore to the town of Robellada' according to General Solchaga's orders. The IV Brigade set out to fulfill this order on 16 September. . . The Nationalist win if they achieve two of the following objectives 1) Control the Church (SCW2 M5/N4), 2) Control six or more Level three hexes on Board 2, or 3) Inflict sixteen or more CVPs
Attacker: Spanish Nationalist (Elements of III & IV Brigades)
Defender: Spanish Republican (Remnants of the 183rd Bde and armored reinforcements of the 59th Division)

SCW #2 - Last Stand on Hill 197ยท REPUBLICANS should set up first (as defenders), and NATIONALISTS should move first (as attackers).http://www.criticalhit.com/CHscen10.html#anchor60384

2023-06-11(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett Spanish Nationalist winThe Republican side has to make a tough decision on defending the church or the rear hill hexes. With such a low CVP limit (16 CVP losses for the Republicans), it makes it difficult to commit anywhere, and the force disparity between both sides can dramatically change the flow of the scenario if a defending Gun or MMG breaks at the wrong time. Starting the scenario with the defender moving first perplexes me... just shorten the scenario by 1 turn! Too many special counters, special rules, and wide force differences (with 3 boards to deploy on) make it a scenario hard to suggest for others to play.
2017-01-01(A) Jeffrey Myers vs Solo Spanish Nationalist winMy take is that the Republicans should get the balance, and the Nationalist should be required to achieve all three VCs to win (which is how I played it). Otherwise, fun scenario.

Based on my solo playing, I would recommend giving the Republicans the balance and requiring the Nationalists to achieve all three VCs.
