Overview:
The 761st, a separate tank battalion “negro”, attached to Patton’s 3rd Army was participating in an attack on Bougaltroff. At dawn on the 19th, the combined arms assault kicked off. Attached tank destroyers provided covering fire, while the tanks of Company A moved to meet the enemy. The Germans were waiting.
