Rommel had hope to follow up the success of the Gazalla battles with a decisive strike into Egypt. Rommel was convinced that after nearly a month on the offensive, the British and Commonwealth troops were spent. In order to test his theory, he ordered reconnaisance into Egypt, christening the project "Operation Midsummer's Night Dream". At a small oasis, the Germans found a badly shaken and disorganized tank formation in bivouac.Attacker: German (Elements 15th Panzer Division)
