Overview:

After the collapse of Soviet forces facing Army Group Center, a handful of Russian units were sent to defend the main communications routes to Moscow -- the most critical of which was the Minsk highway which ran south of Borodino. Meanwhile, the 10th Panzer Division regrouped and followed up its main thrust towards Moscow, following the SS "Das Reich" Motorized Division. On 13 October, German forward elements encountered the first Soviet defensive positions near the town of Yelnya where a small stream had to be crossed in order to keep up the pace of the advance. ---- A combined arms attack by the Germans across a stream. The Germans get two options, go for the village or go for exit CVP. The Russians cannot cover everything. Lots of options for both sides.
Attacker: German (SS) (II Battalion Panzergrenadier Regiment Germania, 2nd SS Motorized Division and Panzer Regiment 7, 10th Panzer Division, Aufklärungs Abt.)
Defender: Russian (32nd Rifle Division/Reserve Company)

2021-02-09(D) X von Marwitz vs Lars-Peder Jensen Russian winThis little scenario is set in the openings months of Operation Barbarossa. A crack German force has to overcome a stream and the hills beyond for a number of EVP. The terrain is a great challenge so the defending Russians must make the best out of what they have.

2021-01-23(A) Shane Pask vs Russian win5 turns is not much to cross board 47 with infantry. Conceded at the end of turn 3 when the Russian sniper went crazy breaking two separate squads and leaving me with no practical hope of exiting the required infantry. I had one AC and the Pz II waiting to exit. Didn't even manage to reveal stacks in 2 of 3 village buildings - the third one revealed itself with an ATR as an AC roared passed (missed).
2020-12-12(D) Dave Mareske vs John Otrompke Russian winThe Germans divided their forces in both they tried to exit and take the buildings. The stream was hard to cross by the village and eventually lost both armored cars there. The Germans lost on of their tanks in CC and then it became impossible for them to exit 16CVP. A good game that came down to the final turns.
2019-11-29(D) Miikka Sohlman vs Matti Holsti Russian win
2018-10-14(A) Vic Lauterbach vs JM German (SS) winI risked dividing the small German force to attack both flanks. The 8 ML squads failed just two MC in the first two turns and I also got good smoke and sD results. The Russian reinforcements could not stop two flank movements resulting in an exit VP win in the German MPh of GT5. With some high DRs, this one could have easily gone the other way.
