2025-10-05(A) Vic Lauterbach vs JM Partisan winI got the Partisans in this small Balkan scrap which was better than we expected! It's a good one for players who think LMORs are useless. Both sides took numerous losses from LMOR hits! I sent the north group to threaten the eastern buildings and pillboxes. The other two groups went for the western buildings and supplies. My plan worked. Although losses were very heavy on both sides, I had more squads to lose. I took supply cache J6 and pillbox D8 in turn 5. By then Jim was down to 2 squads, 2 HS, the 9-1 and crew w/MMG in pillbox E5. This one was hard fought and fun, but the Croatians need the balance. Jim: My plan was to hold building 38J8 and/or ammo cache 38J6 and everything to the west. The Croatians Achilles' heel is two leaders. Ditto on the balance; that 7-0 would really help. When the Partisan sniper killed the 8-1 in my 38D8 pillbox.* I lost a key -3 shot at the northern runway hexes. With less firepower, I couldn't keep the Partisans away from J6 and the win - good game. * We were surprised a pillbox occupant was a valid sniper target hex [per A14.2].
