Overview:

Colonel Koszorous' 1st Hungarian Armored Division had taken Arad and was continuing its drive on Lippa. Koszorous' mission was to prevent the Soviet 2nd Ukrainian Front getting any closer to the Hungarian frontier. Nearing Lippa, the Hungarians slammed into the Soviet 110th Tank Brigade. A fierce tank battle ensued between the Hungarian 7th Assault Gun Battalion and Soviet T-34s.
Attacker: Hungarian (Elements 2/1st Motorized Btn & 7th Assault Gun Btn, 1st Armoured Division)

2020-11-14(A) Pascal Boileau vs Guillaume Mailhan Russian winThe issue of the game was decided on the last turn. Guillaume used at best the Russian defensive resources. The mortar fire was devastating for the Hungarian troops stupidly located in the woods and the T34/85 did a good job destroying and immobilizing 2 StuGs. However, I managed to get rid of the 2 Russian AFVs but he still succeeded to destroy 1 StuG in CC. The final assault over the top of the hill was deadly for the Hungarians... A really nice scenario.

2019-08-10(A) Øyvind Jacobsen Bjørkås vs Lars Jelstad Russian win
2019-04-30(D) Jeff B vs David Murray Russian winWe decided to switch sides to test the seemingly balanced nature of this scenario. My opponent came on strong on both fronts, with the majority of his force in the north. I was fine with this as my plan was to try to hold the south while lightly defending the north. My plan hit an immediate snag when one of my two squads on the hill was broke with a sniper. I had setup a dummy tank in the north to try and dissuade his tanks from speedily rolling in, but David had none of my bluff. I mostly kept concealment, but took a few juicy shots, killing a HS and breaking another 1.5 squads. I needed to hold off one more turn before my reinforcements arrived. Turn 2 he pressed the attack and guessed wrong on which tank was my dummy, losing one to a side shot from mine. I also KIAd another squad, another for FTR, and bagged another along with his 8-1 in CC. Meanwhile I lost a HS, my tank entered in the south to make a StuG sandwich on his remaining one down there, and my infantry bolstered my weakened northern defense. The game was affectively over at this point as he was down to one squad in the south, and the one tank which was about to be scrap metal. But David pressed on and we had an enjoyable topsy-turvy game for 3 more turns. Fun scenario, though it's perhaps a bit too dicey.
2019-04-22(A) Jeff B vs David Murray Hungarian winDavid made a couple mistakes in his setup: not setting anybody up on the hill to strip my concealment and prevent my stack moving, and placing his real tank in non-concealment terrain while his dummy tank was properly placed in such. This allowed me to deduce he had left the south weakly defended and focus my main thrust up north. I immediately ran into some trouble though when I MALFd my AL's tank. This would be recalled the next turn on a failed fix. My Schwerpunkt in the north did a good enough job for me to swing most of my troops south, which is where his reinforcements entered. His plan was to make me hunt down his tanks, and he may have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for some bad dice on his part and lucky dice on mine. In the end he was down to one encircled squad by the end of Turn 4 and decided to throw up the white flag. A good one sitting scenario.
