Overview:

The armored forces were committed on the second day of Operation Cobra, and 2nd Armored Division made significant gains. The following day the armored forces were racing through the German rear lines, as they had been given the directive “speed over caution”. The 2-22nd Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division was part of TF 2-66. On 27 July they initially met little resistance other than a couple of isolate pockets, and Canisy was abandoned by the Germans. The advancing Americans met some stiff resistance after passing through le Mesnil Herman. German infantry was hidden in the bocage and two Panther tanks awaited their prey.

2021-02-12(A) Will Willow vs S. Anderson German win
2021-02-03(A) Andy Goldin vs David Ready German winI lost two Shermans to hidden PSKs and a third to a lucky Panther shot but got to the victory buildings in time to seize all of them, driving away his infantry. A chancy 'sleaze freeze' of his concealed HMG allowed me to surround and capture the squad, which withered at my point blank firepower. I even managed a lucky kill a Panther in CC on the last game turn. Unfortunately he left a HIP HS on the upper level of Q7, and I didn't think to clear the building by declaring a "mopping up" so he eked out a win..
2020-08-16(A) Richard Jenulis vs Rob Wirthlin German winCascadia 2020 Summer Offensive (R2) VASL. Last turn, but not even close.
2020-08-14(A) Richard Jenulis vs Greg Barsness German winThe first four German sniper checks resulted in three "1" and a "2". This resulted in the decollation of three tank commanders and a small "stun" for another. In the end, a platoon of tanks went home short one head each, another tank returns to base with a malfunctioned MA, one was burning and the last was a wreck. The American attacked refocused on the village. The last turn saw three CC attacks. The Americans needed all three to win. The 9-1 leader was unable to evict the German vagrants and the other two didn't matter.
2019-05-25(A) Richard Jenulis vs Stewart King German winEnfilade 2019. Came down to last tun. Stewart was ready to call the game the turn before, but decided to play it out. It payed off. I lost by one point when a crew pinned and squads and a half squad next to the exit hex failed to rally. Stewart went on to win the tournament. Close, enjoyable and fun game.
