Overview:
The war above the Arctic Circle was well into the fourth year of fighting and the Germans had received the ultimatum from the Finns to be out of Finland or face hostile actions. The Russians were planning on sabotaging the German XX Mountain Army's withdrawal from positions occupied for the last three years.
