Overview:
In the summer of 1941, as the German Wehrmacht was blitzing through the Soviet Union, the Red Army would make valiant attempt to stem the tide. One such occasion occurred at Pobolova, as the Soviet 240th Rifle Regiment caught the Germans by surprise pushed them out of the town. The German response was swift, as the mobile elements of the 10th Infantry Division (motorized) counter-attacked. Lacking heavy weapons and transport, the Russians quickly found themselves in danger of being surrounded. During the desperate attempt to escape encirclement, the Russians tried to make a stand at a ruined farmhouse east of Pobolova.Attacker: German (10th Infantry Division (motorized) and Aufklaerungs-Abteilungen 10)
