Overview:
The 3rd Battalion of the 117th Infantry Regiment with armor support from Company “A”, 743rd Tank Battalion moved through the Siegfried Line to attack Ubach as part of XIX Corps’ pincer maneuver to encircle Aachen. Many of the German bunkers had been overgrown with vegetation since being built years earlier and were hidden from view as the GIs moved towards Ubach.Attacker: American (Companies “K” and “L” of 3rd Battalion of the 117th Infantry Regiment with armor support from Company “A”, 743rd Tank Battalion)
