Overview:

While the rest of the 2nd SS Panzer Division was in a fighting retreat from the Danube canal, the armored recon battalion was sent across the Floridsdorf Bridge to help delay the advance of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, which was driving on the city from the northeast. As it arrived to take up positions, the Soviets were already advancing.
