Overview:
Both the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and Le Regiment de la Chaudiere were forced to bypass the Steelworks, leaving its clearance to following up units. At 1635 hours, the 8th Brigade's reserve unit, the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment was ordered to clear the Steelworks, while following 9th Brigade was ordered to bypass and continue the advance. A sudden rainstorm provided cover for the North Shore's assault companies, who crossed the open fields and drove the remaining Germans from the shattered building, a process not finally completed until early the next morning.Attacker: Canadian (Elements of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment)
