Overview:

On the morning of September 19th, 1944, D Company of the 2nd Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment was tasked with advancing into Arnhem along the Utrechtseweg Road. The company fought its way to the municipal museum location. An abandoned German 20L AA gun was in the street adjacent to the museum. By late morning, the Staffordshires had dug in at the museum just as StuGs of SS Kampfgruppe Moeller began moving towards the museum along the Utrechtseweg.

2022-06-12(D) Tom Rodwell vs Lee Hyde-Sellars British winThis was a fun and fast-paced DASL scenario, which captured the flavour of the bitter, close range urban combat in Arnhem. A spreading blaze from F2 created headaches for both players and channelled the German attack avenues. The scenario was decided by the combination of effective defensive fire by the British and a hand to hand close combat ambush result in G4. That and the Stug running our of smoke with its first shot made it too much to do for the Germans given the time remaining. One to revisit.
2022-04-01(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins British win
2022-04-01(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best British winBritish defensive fire on Turn 1 was devastating as the Germans rolled 11's and 12's galore. By turn 1-1/2 the Germans had lost 4-1/2 squads KIA'd and only a single squad and 3 hafl-squads were still unbroken. The Stug MALF'd its MA and with that Dan gave the concession for a British victory. Between the two of us we rolled 5 boxcars in 1-1/2 turns...which speaks for itself that the dice really affected this game negatively.
