Overview:
During the final days of Belgian resistance in World War II, as German forces advanced toward the Lys River. The Belgian Anmy, though outnumbered and outgunned, was still fighting to slow the German advance and allow for the retreat of Allied forces, particularly the. British Expeditonary Force (BEF) and French troops toward Dunkirk. The village of Vinkt, near the Lys River, became a key defensive position for the Belgian Ie Régiment de Chasseurs Ardennais, an elite light infantry unit known for its experience and mobility and equipped with T-13 tank destroyers, light machine guns, and anti-tank weapons. Well-trained troops with experience from earlier fighting in Belgium, their mission was to delay the lnfanterie-Division 225. preventing them from advancing further west. True to their motto, "Résiste et mords" (Resist and Bite), the elite Belgian regiment gave the Germans all they could handle.Attacker: German (Infanterie-Division 255)
