Overview:

As the Russian front spread with each German success, vast gaps were left in the main line. These gaps proved to be perfect avenues of approach for the far-ranging Russian cavalry. One such daring group, the 1st Regiment, 2nd Cavalry Division, rode deep behind enemy lines to the main depot of the 6th Army, near the town of Korosten. Waiting until twilight, they drew their sabres and came sweeping across the steppes like the Cossacks of old.
Attacker: Russian (1st Regiment, 2nd Cavalry Division)

2026-06-28(A) John Garlic vs Frank Kelly Russian win
2026-01-03(D) S. Slunt vs Tim Osborne German winThe Russians dismounted to early and the Germans kept pulling away preventing the Russians from getting enough CVPs
2025-06-22(A) O Ramaille vs Russian winThe initial cavalry attack suffered some losses. But then having dismounted, the Russians were able to cause heavy casualties on the German defenders. They were starting to withdraw when the German reinforcements appear. The halftrack pursued the Russian cavalry but they too suffered losses and were unable to prevent the exit of the Russian marauders. A decisive Russian victory with 45 inflicted CVP (1 AC and 2 HT among them) to 17 CVP suffered and 28 EVP.
2021-10-21(A) nathan wegener vs Dave Mareske German winInitial cavalry attack suffered heavy losses. I had just enough CVP to start exiting but needed to get everyone off and could not stay far enough away from the reinforcements. Highlight for me was capturing the AC and using it to whack a squad while driving off the map.
2021-10-21(D) Dave Mareske vs Nathan Wegener German winThis was a fun scenario. A good learning one for cavalry and halftrack overruns. The Russians lost a lot in the initial attack with some good DRs and even though the Russians captured the Armored Car they did not get enough off the board to seal the win.
