Overview:

The M4A2 was seen by their crews for the first time aboard the transport Ashland while enroute to "Helen". C Company, 2nd Tank Battalion was given the new monster. 1st Platoon under Lieutenant Edward Bale would take six Shermans to Red Beach One. The Remaining 8 tanks were split evenly to support 2/2, on Red Two, and 2/8 on Red Three. Scouts lead the Shermans to shore under tremendous fire and with great valor Many of the scouts were killed, for every man killed, another would volunteer to take his place. Lt. Bale reached the beach, but was unwilling to run over his dead and dying fellow Marines scattered on the beach. He went back into the water to try and make it to the bird's beak, without the scouts. Four of the Sherman's fell into shellholes drowning out the engines. Lt Bale in China Girl and another tank, Cecilia were the only tanks to make it to the beach that day.

2014-09-10(A) Aaron Sibley vs Jeff Coleman American (USMC) winWe used the balance as suggested in the BRT players guide. On reflection it might have given me too much of an edge.
2014-06-06(A) Richard Carter vs Steve Cummings American (USMC) winswitched sides and still w/ BRT players guide balance. It came down to the end. The Japanese had 1 broken crew, 1 crew manning a gun South of hexrow O. 1 crew and 1 HS on hexrow O. I managed to KIA the crew in advancing fire of last 1/2 turn and the HS was in the Ocean. I was actually ready to enter into CC and tie him up but we realized two things 1) No CC while wading but 2) to win the Japanese MMC had to be on hinterland or beach. So it was not the most glorious win but it pays to reread the VC's ... I had fun with it though.
