Overview:

The Italians decided to evacuate the town of Kassala in the Sudan. Gazelle Force, an independent motorized unit, led the pursuit of the retreating Italians towad Keru. The Keru position was naturally strong and the Italian 41st Colonial Brigade was ordered to hold the fortified town. Gazelle Force made first contact with the Italians at Keru at 0430 and waited for the 4th Indian Division to come up. At 0700, a party of sixty Italian cavalrymen charged the headquarters unit and the artillery of Gazelle Force. They seemed to have come out of nowhere.

2026-08-10(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett British winAn interesting scenario featuring Italian cavalry (potentially) charging to their doom. The small size and relative distances make for interesting choices for the British Guns to make. Its a decent enough scenario, and hard not to recommend for learning Cavalry, Guns, or Cavalry Wave tactics.
2023-11-09(D) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Italian win
2023-11-09(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Italian winInteresting little game. My Italians charged on the opening turn but failed to do anything. I only reached one gun and that crew Pinned itself in final protective fire. They were then eliminated in CC. Being fanatic had saved my boys as Dan's guns were getting hits after pivoting and with Intensive Fire. But then Dan would roll 10's and 11's on the effects, which kept my boys in the fight. Turn 2, Dan's remaining guns would do good work and knock me around. On Turn 3, I would successfully take control of a second gun. Dan and I would play out the rest of the turn and on Turn 3 in CC, I would win the Melee with snakes and destroyed the third gun. Italian win and a very good scenario for teaching folks how to play cavalry.
