Overview:

The primary obstacle confronting the German Third Army was the fortified town of Mlawa, one of Poland’s few heavily fortified positions. This strong point blocked the primary roads out of East Prussia, and overcoming it would be no easy task. The Germans faced prepared fields of fire, interlocking trench lines, and antitank obstacles formed by railroad tracks embedded into ground with concrete. Panzer Detachment Kempf was assigned the difficult mission to attack in this zone, and consisted of the 7th Panzer Regiment, SS Standarte Deutschland Regiment and the 37th Pioneer Battalion. The Germans launched the attack with panzers leading the way. . .

2022-12-08(D) Richard Jenulis vs Greg Rodgers German winTHe Germans didn't bother with the bridge laying tanks nor the OBA. Instead they plowed through the minefields with their armor, accepting the losses, and the infantry exploited the trailbreaks. Once the Germans made it up the hill, the Poles could not stand up to the massive firepower of the Germans. On the top of the 9th. the Germans won two lopsided CC's to secure the building and the win. A static defence for the Poles, but an exciting finish nonetheless.

2017-05-28(A) Tom Kearney vs Walt McWilliams German winWalt made some errors during deployment but still had an effective defensive line that channelized my troops toward pre-arranged killing grounds. However, I found a small gap in his line and exploited through it with my armor. The 150mm OBA simply pounded the castle on the hill until the front was a mass of flames. A key moment of the game was when the German sniper killed the Polish 9-2. This caused the squad with him to break a created another gap in the line. The Germans poured through both gaps and captured what remained of the castle.
