Overview:

Three German Infantry Corps of Fourteenth Army were pushing east between the Vistula and Bug Rivers maintaining pressure, with VIII Corps oriented towards Tomaszow. The Polish forces began to break up into pockets of Resistance, and were not acting as a large, cohesive fighting force. Some of the Polish units formed strongpoints, reinforced with heavy machineguns to fight off the onslaught. Although these units were trapped, the German infantry was forced to reduce these positions. The 8th Infantry Division benefitted from having a company of self-propelled 88s, which came forward and pounded the tough positions.

2023-04-10(D) Shaun Andrews vs Steve Slunt German win
2021-04-13(A) Andy Bagley vs Tony Gibson German winThe Poles concentrated most of their forces in forward defensive positions on or just behind the first ridge, and at first this looked good as initial German progress was slow. The Poles also got an early break when their 46mm mortar took out two of the German assault guns. However, the superior German firepower eventually took its toll, and the Poles took heavy losses as they were unable to fall back coherently to second-line positions. As a result, the German infantry was largely intact and the Poles had only a few MMCs left when they conceded in Turn 4.
2021-02-09(D) Richard Jenulis vs Bill Slunt German winNWASL 2021. A 12hr marathon played over 14hrs with a two hour seventh inning stretch. Germans took the final two hill hexes on the final turn. The 88's are difficult for the Poles to deal with. One malf'ed three times and repaired immediately. They were intensive fire monster.
2020-10-12(D) Dave Mareske vs Scott Martin German winWell I got to try this one again. The game went back and forth with good shots and rolls on both sides. The game was won by the Germans moving a fanatic 5-4-8 through residual and a 4 (-2) shot...needed to roll a "6" for a 2MC to not pin, and rolled a "5"...Game won on the final move and roll of the dice. Awesome!
2020-09-08(D) Dave Mareske vs Dennis Dowd Polish winOne HMG was able to get lots of ROF and chewed up some troops. Slow moving over the first hill and by the time the Germans were ready to ascend they had lost half their infantry force. Good game, would like to try again.
2019-06-30(A) Tom Kearney vs Walt McWilliams German winThe German infantry was roughly handled by the Poles as the Germans crossed the southern hills. But, one by one, the Polish strongpoints were forced to be abandoned. This allowed the Germans to get close. The pioneers went to work and cleared the hilltop. A halftrack managed to occupy the bridge on the last turn? Great game!
2019-06-30(D) walter mcwilliams vs Tom Kearney DrawUnlike the previus scenarios this was Not, the Germans scenario to loose. The Poles set up in a very strong line of fortifications on commanding terrain. The Germzn must assault across some lower level hills climb the climb the slope and capture the hill and a bridge beyond. To aid in this task he has 3ea 88's mounted on 1/2 tracks, at range these 3 vehicles might as well be Tigers since they can out duel any AT weapon the poles have.

I set up to wreck Tom's infantry when they crested the lower hills and I did just that. Tom regrouped and got his armor on the hills, and pushed me off my crest line allowing his engineers and remaining infantry to crawl up the slope relatively unopposed and the secure the hilltop against my reverse slope defences. His halftracks then bounded forward against little opposition to secure the bridge. A close fight to the end, but the poles need the ATR in the balance or insanely lucky dice to really do anything other than annoy the armor. Overall a good scenario which I recommend. Up next ITR 12 Stosabowski Slapdown (Tom came back and conceded this came after realizing we failed to use the correct modifiers for indirect fire vs OT vehicles. It would have made a difference so, I'm officially calling it a draw.)
2017-09-21(D) Chuck Dye vs Kevin Killeen Polish win
2017-02-02(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Pierpaolo Colancecco Polish winThis is a great infantry scenario, fortification use is paramount for a succesfull defence, I used a reverse slope defence for the hill.
